According to BlackBerry Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobility Solutions Division Alex Thurber, BlackBerry committed to deliver 2 years of monthly software updates for the PRIV, however, the PRIV’s built-in security had "little need for many of the updates" as they believe that their phones are more secure.
