ByteDance's video games unit Nuverse is reported to acquire Moonton, the company behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. In a report by Reuters, ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, said that its video games unit Nuverse has agreed to acquire Moonton Technology. “Through cross-team collaboration and drawing on lessons and insights from its own rapid growth, Moonton provides the strategic support needed to accelerate Nuverse’s global gaming offerings,” ByteDance said in a statement. The report also cited an internal memo from Yuan Jing, CEO of Moonton, saying that the company would operate independently from ByteDance after the acquisition.
