Bongbong Marcos regarding the tampering of the Transparency Server of the COMELEC started out from an attempt to correct the entry for candidate Roy Señeres whose name was mispelled. This could have caused the hash code to change from the original string that COMELEC communicated. Marcos didn't have any representative during the whole process and thus raised the concern and used this as the reason for his allegations on the tampering. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is gearing up for another technology fair early next year to explore new automated election systems (AES) that may be used in future polls. COMELEC spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the fair will help the agency review modern voting technologies and evaluate which systems are best suited for the country’s elections. “As early as next year, you will see COMELEC conduct a more in-depth research where we will have a technology fair again,” he shared in Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon. COMELEC previously used automated counting machines from Miru Systems during the May 2025 polls. The last AES tech fair was held in 2019 with DICT and the COMELEC Advisory Council.
