The Department of Transportation has announced that the government and private sector are now working together to complete the Common Station structure which is slated to start by December 2017. The Common Station will interconnect the three rail lines - the MRT 3, LRT 1, and the soon-to-be-constructed MRT 7. Finally, after all the talks, the commuting public can now be assured of a proper common station for the existing and future metro train systems. According to the Department of Transportation, the common station is set to be built between SM North EDSA and TriNoma. The common station will connect the MRT-3, LRT-1, and the under-construction MRT-7. Also, the Department of Public Works and Highways said that an underpass is also in plans to integrate the common station.
