Sony has introduced the mini version of the Xperia Z1 flagship that packs a smaller display but carries a powerful 20.7 megapixel camera, the Xperia Z1 Compact. The Xperia Z1 Compact bears everything that makes the Xperia Z1 flagship standout: a premium aluminum body that is dustproof and waterproof, a 20.7 megapixel f/2.0 camera with 1/2.3" Exmor RS mobile image sensor, 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.3 Jellybean. The difference now is that the Compact sports a smaller 4.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality at 342ppi, a smaller battery at 2,300mAh, and a thicker (9.5mm) but lighter (137g) body than the Z1. The Xperia Z1 Compact comes in four color variants: White, Black, Pink, and Lime, and will launch globally from February 2014. According to GIGABYTE, the design helps optimize airflow while maintaining a compact form factor for a flagship-class graphics card.
