This means Smart and its value brand TNT delivered the fastest response time between a user’s device and the internet, giving Filipinos real-time connectivity for everyday online use. Converge has recently reported connectivity issues in Metro Manila and other nearby provinces. Restoration of power to re-establish connectivity is currently ongoing. Apple Pay is now available in the Philippines. Here's the full text of the announcement from Apple: Today, Apple announced users in the Philippines can now make purchases using Apple Pay with their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. Starting today, thousands of in-store and online merchants in the Philippines will accept Apple Pay, with support from some of the country’s most established banks, across major credit and debit networks. “The Philippines is home to a digital-first generation that is rapidly embracing a vision for a cashless future, all while expecting security and privacy at every step,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple’s vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet.
