Garmin has officially launched the Descent G2 dive computer in the Philippines, blending robust underwater functionality with eco‑friendly design and everyday health tracking. Tailored for divers of all skill levels, the Descent G2 features a rugged 1.2‑inch AMOLED display housed in a case made from recycled ocean‑bound plastics, capable of withstanding pressures up to 100 meters. “We designed the Descent G2 to support every stage of your diving journey,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s Vice President of Global Consumer Sales. Divers will appreciate the Descent G2’s multiple modes—nitrox, trimix, closed‑circuit rebreather, and freediving—alongside tools like a built‑in compass, “big numbers” mode for easy underwater readability, and variometer alerts that use both sound and vibration. Beyond the reef, the Descent G2 doubles as a comprehensive fitness smartwatch. Competitors like Suunto and Apple have also begun incorporating recycled components, but Garmin’s deep dive into eco‑materials and specialized dive features sets the Descent G2 apart. Available now for ₱45,490, the Descent G2 comes in black, paloma, or shell pink, with QuickFit bands for easy customization. Aside from its AI capabilities, the Google Home Speaker features 360-degree audio and improved microphone processing to better pick up voice commands.
