With digital wallets becoming a popular method for fast and convenient payments, there is growing worry that they are enabling widespread access to betting platforms — often putting vulnerable individuals and families at risk. The proposed legislation aims to impose tighter controls to curb the easy flow of money into online gambling through e-wallets. Online gambling has surged in popularity in the Philippines, partly fueled by the seamless transactions e-wallets offer. If passed, the new rules could change how millions of Filipinos interact with gambling platforms via digital payments. Samsung has introduced a new Digital Home Key feature in Samsung Wallet that allows Samsung Galaxy users to unlock compatible smart door locks using their smartphones. It expands Samsung Wallet’s digital key system, which was previously used mainly for cars, to now include home door locks. After setup, the digital key can be added to Samsung Wallet during the lock’s onboarding process.
