During a briefing, Visa Philippines head of products Ezer Escolar confirmed that Visa Pay will launch first in partnership with fintech player Maya, enabling seamless integration across digital wallets and merchants. With this feature, it brings support for more types of personal information and deeper integration with Google Wallet on Android and iOS devices. Google is also extending Chrome's integration with Google Wallet. Samsung has introduced a new Digital Home Key feature in Samsung Wallet that allows Samsung Galaxy users to unlock compatible smart door locks using their smartphones. It expands Samsung Wallet’s digital key system, which was previously used mainly for cars, to now include home door locks. After setup, the digital key can be added to Samsung Wallet during the lock’s onboarding process. Samsung said the digital keys are stored securely inside Samsung Wallet and protected by Samsung Knox, the company’s security platform. The Philippine National Police (PNP) is stepping up efforts to train its officers in digital skills as online scams, especially those involving e-wallets, continue to rise.
