The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and TikTok are exploring ways to set up a content creator academy in the Philippines. This occurred in Singapore between Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual and TikTok company representatives. The DTI noted that the goal of the academy was fostering Filipino talent and creativity. Even others could use the platform in promoting their products through live selling sessions and the TikTok Shop e-commerce tool. Moreover, the DTI and TikTok have also discussed improvements to the platform’s security with cybercrime present in the country. With that, the DTI welcomed TikTok’s Safety Enforcement Tool.
