Details about the Samsung Exynos 1480 have been unveiled, a week after the only phone with this chipset was released. The Exynos 1480 has two (2) Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.75GHz and six (6) Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz. Next, the Exynos 1480 is paired with an Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD RDNA architecture. Samsung noted that this chipset provides 53% faster GPU performance in comparison to last year’s Exynos 1380. Samsung has not shared information for when we’ll see another device running on the Exynos 1480. Samsung Electronics has annouced its two new Exynos processors for mobile devices, the Exynos 5 Octa (Exynos 5422) and the Exynos 5 Hexa (Exynos 5260). The new processor promises to deliver up to 34% higher performance compared to previous Exynos Octa models and can save power consumption by up to 10%.
