Facebook is entering a major change this 2018 as earlier this year we saw a few announcements on the updates that are to come. Then just last week Facebook Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced that the platform would give powers to the community to flag trusted news sources. In a Facebook post just hours ago, Zuckerberg, detailed the decision of why the social media platform's News Feed will now feature more news from local sources. Starting today, posts from local news publishers from a users local city or town will pop up more often. Meta has started rolling out new AI-powered features on Facebook that let users add more personality to their profiles, posts, and Stories. One of the biggest updates is animated profile pictures. Facebook is also introducing Restyle for Stories and Memories. To keep those legacy machines safe from potential threats, the tech giant introduced the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program last year, allowing personal account users to opt into continued patch coverage. Enrolled consumer devices will now officially continue to receive critical security patches until October 12, 2027. While we would've enjoyed if Microsoft called it the "Extended Extended Security Updates program," it seems like they fully intend for this extension to fly under the radar.
