Delgra has cited the need to increase the fares to hopefully help solve the problem of cab underutilization. After months of petition and protest, jeepney drivers finally got the fare increase but not the P10 minimum they wanted. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved a fare hike of 50-centavo for the minimum distance of 4-kilometer starting June 14. There is also something different with the new fare matrix, there are reports that say, "children less than one meter in height shall be transported free of charge, and those from 1 to 1.30 meters in height shall pay half the fare."
