On their most recent initiative is Facebook Lite – a lightweight version of Facebook app which has recently made available in the Philippines and India through Google Play Store. The social media company was able to do this by stripping Facebook Lite down to its core components: News Feed, Status Updates, Push Notifications, and Messages. This means that although FB Lite users will not get the full Facebook experience, they will still be able to do some of the stuff on Facebook. Plans of launching Facebook Lite to other markets is already in the social media company’s pipeline, although it’s not clear which country will get it next and when.
