Two US-based satellite internet providers are expected to launch in the Philippines this year, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said both companies are in the final stages of their applications with the National Telecommunications Commission. He added that one provider may complete licensing this month, while the other could go live before the end of 2026.
Aguda did not name the companies, but said they are both established satellite service providers. Their entry is expected to help improve internet access in underserved areas as the government continues efforts to expand connectivity across the country.
The development comes as the Philippines works to attract more foreign telecom players and widen broadband access nationwide.
