This makes NOW the fourth telco in the country next to Smart, Globe, and DITO. Under the PA, NOW is prohibited to share its frequency to the remaining three telco—Smart, Globe, and DITO—without securing approval from the NTC. The fourth telco appointed Unicapital Inc. We've already known since last year that a third telco player is entering the Philippines. Today, during an event in Malacañang, it was revealed that India has also expressed interest in entering the Philippine Telco space. There's cancellation of domestic and int'l flights, road re-routing, class/work suspension, no drone flying zones and the suspension of telecom services by telcos. Yesterday, just moment before the arrival of the Pope in the Philippines, network service by all telcos were suspended or turned off. Likewise, suceeding SMS messages also confirmed that telcos had to abide by the mandate of NTC to suspend or limit services due to security reasons caused by the Pope's visit.
