We’ve already known since last year that a third telco player is entering the Philippines. The President himself is ordering this entry in order to break the last standing duopoly of PLDT and Globe. Just last week we’ve learned that there are quite a few more companies interested in partnering with the third player. Today, during an event in Malacañang, it was revealed that India has also expressed interest in entering the Philippine Telco space.

The Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce Phils. Inc. held an event today in Malacañang. This is where India expressed their interest to the President himself. The deadline for DICT to select a third player is in March, so we’re only about a week away from that decision.
