DOTr has just announced that students can now get free rides in the MRT-3, LRT-2, and PNR. DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade stated that the free rides for students are at certain times in the mornings and afternoons, from Mondays to Fridays, except holidays. Terminal fees at airports operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, as well as Philippine Ports Authority-owned seaports, will also be free for students. To avail of the free rides, students need to apply for a "Student Free Ride ID." The application form can be found on the respective websites of DOTr, MRT-3, and LRTA. Students up to the undergrad/college level, including vocational and technical courses, can avail of the free rides.
