Globe has announced its partnership with USA-based AT&T and Canada-based Telus for its Globe 5G roaming services. According to Globe, this partnership with AT&T and Telus will provide service to Globe 5G roaming customers in around 14,000 US towns and cities and at least 5 major cities in Canada. In response to increased tensions in the Middle East, Globe Telecom is launching a free roaming relief package for Filipinos living in a few Middle Eastern nations. Users who qualify for Globe Prepaid, TM, and Postpaid services in Saudi Arabia ( STC, Zain ), United Arab Emirates ( du& e ), Bahrain ( Batelco, Zain, Bahrain ), Qatar ( Ooredoo,Vodafone ), and Kuwait ( Ooredoo Kuwait, stc Kuwait ) will obtain 1GB of data and 15 minutes of calls and 15 SMS which will remain active for seven days. Instead, Globe is focusing on making sure its service is consistent, easy to get, and affordable for every Filipino. Globe Telecom has officially partnered with Starlink to bring Direct to Cell (DTC) satellite service to the Philippines, making it the first telco in Southeast Asia to offer this breakthrough technology. Globe says the service will help cover the remaining 4% of the population, or around 4.8 million people, who currently lack terrestrial network coverage.
