Google has launched its desktop app for Windows, bringing its AI-powered search experience beyond the browser and directly into the operating system. The app integrates Google’s AI Mode into Windows, allowing users to search the web, files, and apps using natural language without opening a browser. The app opens through a keyboard shortcut, displaying a floating search interface where users can type questions and receive AI-generated answers along with relevant web results. A pop-up window should appear soon after, wherein users are instructed to set Google Messages as their default SMS app. Beyond standard text, the app comes packed with specialized productivity features like Image Studio for creative design, Super Fiesta Mode for intelligent model matching, and advanced capabilities for Deep Research and real-time web retrieval.
