Google has been supporting the development of Mozilla browser for years now but it seems the effort is not enough to gain major market share. So, it has decided to create its own browser -- Google Chrome. In an announcement in the official Google blog: On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn't the browser that matters. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today's complex web applications much better. We also built a more powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of web applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers. Google will still continue efforts to help Mozilla but with the Google Chrome Browser already taking first priority, I'm not sure if the partnership will last.
