Google I/O 2024 shared a ton of announcements today, with Gemini and AI taking center stage. Unlike previous Google I/O keynotes, this event didn’t involve hardware announcements or teasters. Here are some of the biggest announcements and event highlights for this year’s keynote: AI features for Android—While Google didn’t mention features coming with Android 15, the company shared how more AI-centric features are coming to the software. Google Search—The search engine is getting a huge boost with new Gemini features. Google Workspace—Gemini is now being rolled out to Google’s other services, like Gmail. There was some sort of mass panic last night when Google was spewing a warning "this site may harm your computer" on all their search results. People search on Google were shocked and confused as if the search engine itself was hacked.
