Google has introduced Nano Banana 2 which is also known as Gemini 3.1 Flash Image. Google has unveiled its latest AI image generation model with Nano Banana 2. It mixes the advanced reasoning and visual quality of Nano Banana Pro. Nano Banana 2 improves its world knowledge, text rendering and translation within images. Nano Banana 2 is rolling out across Google products including the Gemini app, Search, AI Studio, Vertex AI, Flow and Google Ads. Nano Banana Pro will still be available for tasks needing more precise and accurate responses. OpenAI has launched an upgraded version of its image-generation and editing tool, now branded as ChatGPT Images, as it steps up competition with Google’s popular Nano Banana image editor. GPT Image 1.5 quickly climbed to the top spot on the LMArena Text-to-Image leaderboard, overtaking Google’s Nano Banana Pro.
