Google has renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, expanding its reach across the Gemini app and Google Search. Google is also bringing notebooks directly into the Gemini app, with full cross-app syncing between the two platforms. While Gemini Notebook remains a standalone research tool, Google is rolling out an update that gives every notebook a secure cloud computer, allowing it to write and execute code natively for more accurate data analysis. This update is currently available for Google AI Ultra users and Workspace business customers with AI Ultra and AI Expanded Access, and Google will extend it to all Pro users on the web in the coming weeks. Google has officially launched its AI-powered note-taking app, NotebookLM, for both Android and iOS platforms, marking a significant expansion of its capabilities beyond desktop use. NotebookLM, initially introduced as Project Tailwind at Google I/O 2023, was designed to assist users in organizing and interacting with their documents through AI. The mobile app's release comes just ahead of the Google I/O 2025 conference, reflecting the company's ongoing emphasis on AI developments. Users can also share content directly to NotebookLM from other apps, such as websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos, by tapping the share icon and selecting NotebookLM.
