In a blog post, Google announced that shutdown of Google+ for consumers because "it has not achieved broad consumer or developer adoption, and has seen limited user interaction with apps." The company added that the consumer version of Google+ has a low usage and engagement with 90% of Google+ user sessions only lasting less than 5 seconds. With the impending shutdown, Google is implementing a 10-month wind-down period which is slated for completion by the end of next August. Infinix has announced a free three-month trial of Google AI Plus (2TB) for users of select smartphones, giving access to Google's AI tools and cloud storage at no extra cost. Users who qualify can access Google AI Plus, which includes Gemini, NotebookLM, Nano Banana 2, and 2TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. After the trial period ends, users will automatically be charged the regular monthly rate of Google AI Plus (2TB) in their region unless the subscription is canceled.
