GoTyme Bank has revealed when it will launch in the Philippines and highlighted its security measures to ensure a safe banking experience for its customers. GoTyme is a partnership between the Gokongwei Group and the Singapore-headquartered digital banking group Tyme. In August 2021, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has approved GoTyme’s application to operate a digital bank. It is one of the six BSP-licensed digital banks along with Tonik, OFBank, UnionDigital, UNO, and Maya. “Without good cybersecurity, you can’t have trust,” explains Chris Bennett, Chief Technology Officer at GoTyme Bank. “We make use of the best security controls throughout the lifecycle.” According to Bennet, GoTyme Bank, as a cloud-first and cloud-only company, can react to threats much faster than any organization. Built on Tyme Bank’s experience and success in South Africa, GoTyme Bank is also working with the world’s leading providers to prevent and combat potential threats.
