Huawei has confirmed the launch of its next nova lineup, the HUAWEI nova 14 Series, set on May 19 in China. Aside from the design aspect, no other details have been mentioned, except it will be powered by HarmonyOS, which is claimed to be the HarmonyOS NEXT. As a result, Huawei's devices lost access to key Google services like the Play Store, Maps, and Gmail, forcing the company to develop its own operating system, HarmonyOS. It’s still unknown whether these companies would ensure compatibility with existing Android apps or follow Huawei's approach with HarmonyOS NEXT, which entirely removes Android app support. This will also be the first Huawei device to run HarmonyOS Next, the company’s fully independent operating system that moves away from Android. With HarmonyOS Next at the core, the device is expected to optimize Huawei’s ecosystem, potentially offering a smoother and more AI-integrated user experience. More details, including official pricing and availability, are expected at the launch event next week. In its latest announcement, Huawei says that over 10,000 apps and meta-services have now been developed on its HarmonyOS NEXT.
