HDMI 2.0, which a lot of devices currently use, has a bandwidth of up to 18Gbps, capable of delivering 4K at 60Hz. With HDMI 2.1, we are now given up to 48Gbps of bandwidth, offering resolutions up to 8K 60Hz, 4K 120Hz, and even 10K. The new Ultra High-Speed HDMI cables will make all of this happen, but previous specifications have not been forgotten. HDMI 2.1 will be backward compatible with all earlier versions of HDMI.
