In a simultaneous event in New York and UK, HTC made the formal announcement of their new handset -- the HTC One. The HTC One packs the same screen size as its predecessor, the HTC One X at 4.7 inches. HTC Boomsound is also expected to improve the sound experience along with the microphone, the front stereo speakers and Beats Audio. The rest of the story is software, HTC Sense 5.0 which seems to take a hint from Windows Phone and some other unique elements (BlinkFeed, Sense TV, etc.). Without the iPhone, we would not have seen the likes of Samsung Instinct, Omnia i900, HTC Touch Diamond, LG Dare and Sony-Ericsson Xperia this early. I had 4 most likely candidates as a great iPhone alternative -- the HTC Touch Diamond, Nokia N96, Samsung i900 Omnia and the Sony-Ericsson Xperia. I had mixed feelings after trying out the HTC Touch Dual phone several weeks ago. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7200, 400 MHz processor running Windows Mobile 6 and is compatible with all of the usual HTC accessories.
