Huawei has stated that the Map Kit is not directly for consumer use but rather is "designed to encourage software developers to come up with applications based on its mapping capabilities." Booking Holdings, a US travel aggregator website, is one of many companies that have partnered with Huawei to develop the mapping service. Zhang Pingan, a president of cloud services at Huawei's consumer business group, stated that the Map Kit will offer "real-time traffic conditions and a highly sophisticated navigation system which can recognize a car changing lanes.
