According to new data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), HUAWEI is on top of China’s smartphone market. Huawei's rise came despite an overall 4% drop in China smartphone shipments, totalling 69 million units. In addition, Huawei launched a series of smartphones last year powered by its in-house AI chips and operating system. Huawei is preparing a double blow in the foldable market with not one, but two major launches planned for the second half of the year: the upgraded tri-fold Mate XT 2 and the book-style Mate X7 . What to Expect from Mate XT 2 Tri-fold form factor: Sticking with the 10.2‑inch multi-foldable screen that defined the original Mate XT  . New Kirin powerhouse: Powered by Huawei’s next-gen Kirin 9020hh chipset, boasting a 1+3+4 CPU setup and Mali‑920 GPU, indicating a clear performance jump  . Huawei’s second foldable release of H2 will be the Mate X7, featuring a more traditional book-style foldable design. Release Launch Tipsters suggest both devices are set to debut in H2 2025, building on Huawei’s experience launching the Mate XT in September 2024 (then globally in February 2025).
