Huawei has officially announced HarmonyOS 7, the latest version of its operating system for smartphones, tablets, PCs, wearables, and IoT devices. The announcement was made during the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2026 on June 12. According to Huawei, HarmonyOS 7 focuses on delivering a smarter user experience through improved system performance and deeper AI integration. Huawei is also introducing new visual effects for buttons, sliders, and other user interface elements, giving the system a more immersive look. The update also expands HarmonyOS Intelligence, Huawei's AI platform. Huawei says it has improved the assistant's integration with apps to help users complete requests more efficiently. Behind the scenes, Huawei has upgraded its HarmonyOS Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0, which the company says delivers a task execution rate of more than 90%. Huawei's homegrown operating system, HarmonyOS, has made significant strides in the Chinese market, and has achieved a 15% market share in Q3 2024.
