Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled the (Transforming Intelligent Ground Excursion Robot) TIGER, the company's first uncrewed ultimate mobility vehicle (UMV) concept designed to carry various types of payload while traveling over challenging terrain. TIGER is being developed by Hyundai Motor Group’s New Horizons Studio, headquartered in Mountain View, California, in partnership with Autodesk and Sundberg-Ferar. It is also intended to connect to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which can fully charge and deliver TIGER to inaccessible locations. The TIGER is equipped with a large load bay housed within its body for carrying goods or to help deploy deliver aid packages in emergency situations. With the legs retracted, the TIGER drives like an all-wheel-drive vehicle. If ever it gets stuck or encounter challenging terrain, the TIGER can use its walking ability to pass that terrain while keeping payloads more level than a typical ground vehicle, thanks to its leg-wheel articulation. "Vehicles like TIGER, and the technologies underpinning it, give us an opportunity to push our imaginations,” said Dr. Hyundai has been around for quite some time already but has made a fair amount of noise in the car industry recently.
