The Google Pixel 11 is coming next month with some upgrades

Listen to article

Google has officially confirmed its next hardware event for August 12, 2026. Tech figure Mark Gurman was able share an invite from the company, mentioning the arrival of the “next generation of Pixel.”

The company is continuing its strategy of launching early to beat Apple’s usual September timeline. This year’s lineup will include the base Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, the larger Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The biggest upgrade this year is happening under the hood. Google’s new Tensor G6 chip is moving to TSMC’s advanced 2-nanometer manufacturing process, which should fix the overheating and battery drain issues found in older models. Even better, Google is finally replacing its formerly-used Samsung modems with MediaTek’s high-performance 5G modems, promising much more stable mobile data connections.

Buyers will also get more storage out of the box, as Google is completely killing off the old 128GB tier. The base Pixel 11 will now start at a more 2026-practical 256GB.

Design-wise, the famous camera bar on the back is getting a minor facelift with a uniform, all-black finish. Google is also dropping the temperature sensor from the Pro models. In its place, they are adding a new feature called “Pixel Glow” – a sleek notification light built directly into the camera bar. All models will also sport an upgraded 50-megapixel main camera sensor capable of shooting nighttime 4K videos using on-device AI.

Due to global part shortages especially with storage, rumors point to a price hike of around $100, which could push the local grey-market starting price close to PHP 60,000. Would you get a base Pixel 11 at that price?
