ICAO’s Dangerous Goods Panel studied the issue and suggested updates to safety guidelines. The new rules will be added to ICAO’s guidelines for the safe transport of dangerous goods by air. These guidelines are shared with all 193 ICAO member countries, which may apply them in their own aviation policies. ICAO said the move is part of its goal to improve flight safety and prevent accidents caused by battery-related incidents.
