Amazon may launch its satellite internet service, called Project Kuiper (also known as Amazon LEO), in the Philippines as early as this year, according to Henry Aguda. The service is expected to compete with Starlink. Project Kuiper uses low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to provide internet access, especially in areas with limited or no connection. If launched, it could give Filipinos another option for faster and more reliable internet, especially in remote locations. Amazon has been working on Project Kuiper as part of its plan to expand internet access worldwide. Like Starlink, the service aims to use a network of satellites to deliver internet directly to users on the ground. A congressional investigation into the costly, slow, and difficult-to-use internet services in the Philippines is being pushed by lawmakers. Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and other House leaders stated that numerous Filipinos experience internet connectivity problems despite the existence of the Konektadong Pinoy Act as a new legislative measure.
