Members of Congress are looking into creating or amending existing laws to impose higher penalties to erring Internet Service Providers and telcos if they don't provide the mandatory quality of service standards. Arnel Ty stated that they are looking to impose fines of up to Php50 million if ISPs fail to provide the minimum expected service. Currently, the NTC regulates telcos and ISP but the outdated law only mandates for Php200 per day if an ISP is found on-compliant.
