The Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG)has announced the JPEG XS, a new low-energy visual format that aims to optimize viewing over live streaming and virtual reality. Below are the key features of the new format: low power consumption (through lightweight image processing and reasonable bandwidth interfaces), low-latency in coding and decoding, easy to implement (through low complexity algorithm), small size on the chip and fast software running on general purpose CPU with the use of SIMD and GPU. JPEG XS is open source and has a universal HDR coding format, which also lends itself well to professional video transcoding. It features two 16-inch 16:10 touchscreen displays with a 120Hz refresh rate on both panels, a 3K ROG Nebula HDR OLED screen, 1,100 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision HDR, and anti-glare coating. The camera is co-engineered with Leica and features a dual-camera system. The Luna Ultra also features a 1-inch sensor capable of recording 8K video and capturing high-resolution photos with improved dynamic range and color accuracy. Other features include 8K 30fps recording, Dolby Vision, 10-bit I-Log, Leica color profiles. It features Infinix's Dynamic Shine Design and Pearl-Smooth Finish.
