Cisco just recently announced their new Linksys Smart WiFi Routers, namely the EA4500, EA3500 and the EA2700, which offers better features and performance. First up is the Linksys EA4500 is a dual-band N900 router with 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a USB port. Some of the apps mentioned are “Block the Bad Stuff” for iOS which helps the routers protect its users and devices from unsafe websites and adult content, and “Twonky Video” for Android and iOS which allows you to browse online video services and “beam” them to your Smart TV. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router line can also be purchased at the following retailers: Microvalley, Complink, E-hub, Villman Computers, PC Express, Gigahertz, Thinking Tools, PC Worx, Silicon Valley, PC Corner, Dynamic PC, Acenet, PC Hub. TP-Link has officially announced the Archer 8, the company’s first router platform built around the upcoming Wi-Fi 8 standard. Alongside the Archer 8, TP-Link also revealed its broader Wi-Fi 8 roadmap, which includes: Deco 8 mesh system - Q1 2027 Roam 8 travel router - Q2 2027 Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters - Q2 2027 The TP-Link Archer 8 is expected to launch in October 2026, with final specifications and regional availability to be announced closer to release. The United States has moved to tighten control over internet infrastructure by banning new foreign-made consumer routers, citing growing cybersecurity and national security risks.
