The Department of Transportation (DOTR) has recently announced the arrival of the first batch of trains allocated for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension. The first batch of trains for the extension project comprises 120 4th generation trains from Spain and Mexico. LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has announced that the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 viaduct is now complete. Phase 1 of the 11.7km LRT-1 Cavite Extension project covers a total of five (5) stations: Dr. Once completed, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension project is expected to benefit the residents in Southern Metro Manila, the province of Cavite, and nearby areas. “LRMC is glad to welcome 2022 with this LRT-1 Cavite Extension accomplishment. Multiple lanes along the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will experience temporary closure from August 6 to 10 to give way for the LRT-1 Extension Project.
