LRT-2 management has just announced that operations of the LRT-2 are temporarily suspended. The LRT-2 management only cited that there is a "technical problem" and that "intervention is currently ongoing". A "code red" means that all LRT-2 operations will be suspended, with trains unloading its passengers at the nearest station. The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has issued a statement regarding the LRT-2 collision incident that happened last night, May 18. According to reports, a non-functioning train of the LRT-2 moved on its own from a pocket track onwards to the rail track, colliding with an operating train between the Anonas and Cubao stations. The LRTA also assured the public that the LRT-2 is safe to ride and use. For LRT 1 and 2 train systems, you will now pay for Php30 for a single Journey from Roosevelt to Baclaran (LRT-1) or Php25 for a ride from Santolan to Recto (LRT-2). Several ride-hailing and motorcycle taxi platforms in the Philippines have begun reducing their commission rates in response to rising fuel prices, following discussions in a congressional hearing.
