Trains that will be used for the LRT-1 Cavite extension is set to arrive in July from Spain. The extension will add an 11.7 km segment consisting of eight stations that will connect Baclaran, Pasay, and Bacoor, Cavite. Santos Avenue in Parañaque City will start operating in Q4 2021, while the remaining stations between Las Piñas and Niog in Bacoor, Cavite will be completed in 2022. LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has announced that the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 viaduct is now complete. Phase 1 of the 11.7km LRT-1 Cavite Extension project covers a total of five (5) stations: Dr. Once completed, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension project is expected to benefit the residents in Southern Metro Manila, the province of Cavite, and nearby areas. “LRMC is glad to welcome 2022 with this LRT-1 Cavite Extension accomplishment. Multiple lanes along the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will experience temporary closure from August 6 to 10 to give way for the LRT-1 Extension Project.
