Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade has revealed that the LRT-1 Cavite Extension is now 55.6% complete.

The said project was left hanging and delayed for 19 years with no progress ever seen until June 2016. Moreover, it connects Baclaran Station to Bacoor, Cavite. Once operational, the railway line will reduce travel time between Baclaran in Parañaque and Bacoor in Cavite from 1 hour 10 minutes down to 25 minutes.

Approximately 11.7 kilometers, it will have eight more stations, namely Redemptorist Station, MIA Station, Asiaworld Station, Ninoy Aquino Station, Las Piñas Station, Zapote Station, and Niog Station.
Furthermore, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension can accommodate 500,000 to 800,000 passengers per day.
To recall, in January 2021, the DOTr has announced the arrival of the first batch of trains allocated for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension.
