Back in 2008, Google has launched its Map Maker service as a way to improve and update the existing Google Maps data for all users. Google mentions that they have started to 'graduate functionality from Map Maker to Google Maps.' This basically means that the integral features of Map Maker are being carried over to Google Maps and is accessible for both desktop and mobile. Some of the key editing features in Google Maps include adding a place, editing information about a place, sharing more details, and editing road segments. Google won't stop there and will still continue to add more editing features all within Google Maps. Google Map Maker has officially closed last March 31, 2017. Nokia has recently announced its latest mapping service called HERE - a new and improved cloud-based location brand and platform. Nokia can be considered a veteran when it comes to mapping. All current Nokia Maps features are still included but with the addition of other cool stuff like: Collections - allows you to save locations to your Nokia account and sync them across your devices so you can view them over the web or on your smartphone.
