It's the first device to come with MediaTek's unannounced G26 chipset, which is a 2.0GHz octa-core processor mated to a Mali G31 GPU. Mediatek will be unveiling two chipsets, namely, the Helio P23 and the Helio P30 at Beijing, China on August 29. MediaTek has just announced the world's first octa-core SOC for smartphones that supports 4G LTE connectivity and powered by the latest Cortex-A17 CPUs from ARM - the MT6595. The MediaTek MT6595 is the company's premium mobile solution for smartphones which utilizes four ARM Cortex-A17 plus four Cortex-A7 CPUs, ARM big.LITTLE architecture, and a PowerVR Series6 GPU. "Reaching the mid market means bringing people affordable devices that power and perform with the latest features, like dual-cameras and 4G LTE connectivity," TL Lee of MediaTek's Wireless Communication unit said. The MediaTek Helio P23 is set for its release sometime in Q4 of 2017, while the P30 will be launching in China soon.
