Both chips are developed closely in partnership with Meta which debuted their Meta Quest 3 which is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses that use the Snapdragon AR1 platform. But it seems Meta wants in on the spotlight too. Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has just revealed the new Quest 3 VR headset, and it is one of the more affordable VR headsets to hit the market. Compared to the Apple Vision Pro, which retails for USD 3,500, the Meta Quest 3 VR headset is a lot more affordable starting at USD 500. Like its predecessors, the Quest 3 covers the eyes and even the sides of the face to give a more immersive experience. Unlike before though, Meta says the Quest 3 the Quest 3 also relies on mixed reality more, which means users will be able to see more of the real world rather than just black when not in use. Powering the Quest 3 is the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, which according to Meta offers “lightning fast” load times and “incredibly crisp details”. Aside from being more powerful, Meta also made the Quest 3 lighter and slimmer than before, making it more comfortable to wear.
