But it seems Meta wants in on the spotlight too. Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has just revealed the new Quest 3 VR headset, and it is one of the more affordable VR headsets to hit the market. Compared to the Apple Vision Pro, which retails for USD 3,500, the Meta Quest 3 VR headset is a lot more affordable starting at USD 500. Unlike before though, Meta says the Quest 3 the Quest 3 also relies on mixed reality more, which means users will be able to see more of the real world rather than just black when not in use. Powering the Quest 3 is the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, which according to Meta offers “lightning fast” load times and “incredibly crisp details”. Aside from being more powerful, Meta also made the Quest 3 lighter and slimmer than before, making it more comfortable to wear. One example Meta uses is the capability to play a virtual piano on your coffee table or open a portal to another dimension right in your living room.
