Notably though, the company’s been transparent about how it intends to move remaining Control Panel settings to the Settings app. The Control Panel has been synonymous with the Windows operating system since its inception in 1985 with Windows 1.0. Microsoft hasn’t provided a specific timeline for when the Control Panel will be completely removed.
