San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has announced that the first batch of MRT-7 trains will arrive next week. SMC also reported that the manufacturing of other important equipment needed for the MRT 7, which were all done in various countries, had also been completed. The MRT-7 is a PHP 63-billion project that will link North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. MRT3, LRT1, LRT2, and PNR all announced that operations will be temporarily suspended tonight. From MRT3's official Twitter account, they stated that the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) advised the train lines to not resume operations until after a 5-hour observation period, based on the risk of aftershocks. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has just announced that the MRT-3 will be shutting down its operations on Holy Week, April 15 to April 21, 2019, for its annual general maintenance.
