Along with IFA, which happens in Berlin, Germany around August or September each year, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is one of the biggest tech exhibitions in Europe and the world. Having been to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2017) earlier this month, we would say the MWC in Barcelona is looking to be more exciting if not as exciting. I will be heading to Barcelona for MWC to cover the launch of OPPO’s latest flagship phone. Perhaps, that’s to make way for a bigger reveal in MWC and it’s supposed to be the Xiaomi Mi 6. While everyone is eagerly awaiting for Samsung to reveal the Galaxy S8, there won’t be any Samsung phone in MWC. Apparently, the Galaxy S8 is not going to attend MWC this year, according to an unimpeachable source familiar to the matter. The date is pegged around the last week of March 2017. In any case, we will still be heading to Barcelona this February to attend the launching of OPPO and Huawei at MWC so stay tuned for that.
